“Blood Donation Camp”

 Aryans in association with PGI organizes “Blood Donation Camp


Aryans Institute of Nursing and Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh today organized “Blood Donation Camp” at Aryans Group of Colleges, situated at Chandigarh-Patiala Highway, near Chandigarh.

A 6 members team of Doctors, Nurses, and technicians from PGIMER, Chandigarh under the leadership & guidance of Dr Shabeel, Department of Transfusion medicine PGIMER, Chandigarh conducted thorough medical checkup of voluntary donors and selected the eligible donors to donate blood. The students were given certificates and donor cards along with refreshments. Ravwinder Singh, LA; Pradeep Gurjar, Nursing officer; Subhash Chand, Nursing officer; Bhupender Singh MTA, Department of transfusion medicine, PGIMER were present. A total of 20 Units of blood were collected by the students and staff of Aryans.

Dr. Anshu Kataria thanked all the donors who have come forward for this noble cause. He further thanked students, Staff, management, and the team for organizing this camp successfully. While motivating the students he further said that a person can save 3 lives from 1 unit blood.  He added that these camps not only provide blood to the blood banks but also are a great boon to the thalassemia and leukemia patients who need blood infusions frequently.

Nidhi Chopra, Principal, Aryans Institute of Nursing said that worldwide millions of lives get saved every year because of blood donation and many more can be saved. She added that the college is looking forward to organize such camps on regular basis as Blood is Life and blood donation is noble cause.
