Menstrual Hygiene Day observed at Aryans Institute of Nursing 


To highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene, break stigma around menstruation, and raise awareness about challenges regarding access to menstrual products, Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh observed Menstrual hygiene day. Under the corporate social responsibility, Aryans B.Sc  Nursing, GNM & ANM students distributed sanitary napkins and raised awareness.

Principal, Aryans Institute of Nursing Mrs Nidhi Chopra said that every month, more than two billion people around the world menstruate. Although a natural and healthy process, menstruation – or period – interrupts lives, rights and freedoms of millions of women and girls, because they cannot afford or access menstrual products, sanitation, and hygiene facilities, and lack education and awareness to manage their menstrual health and hygiene, she asserted.


Coordinator Nursing, Ms. Aakriti Chauhan informed that the sanitary napkins were distributed in nearby villages, schools & also to patients in the health centers. She mentioned that Menstrual Hygiene Day is an annual awareness day on May 28 to highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene management at a global level.
